I have to paint some Menard’s Ultradeck composite decking. I can’t seem to find any real information if it is paintable.

Anybody ever paint that type of stuff?

I only need to tone the deck. They will purchase the decking in a grey and I have to add some darks to shape the floor.

Oh yea- and it rains on stage.

I looked on menard’s website– their Ultradecking composite stuff is made from wood fibers and polyethylene…. I just tried to paint some polyethylene leaves a couple weeks ago. The best solution I found was to use Bulldog Adhesion promoter (its a watery consistency and would be easy to brush/pad/spray on, but it’s smelly), and then exterior paint on top of that.

I didn’t test interior paints or clear finishes, so you might want to do some samples… But that Bulldog stuff was impressive!
