What material do you use to harden and weatherproof muslin for an outdoor space? I am currently trying to build a mast for The Tempest for an outdoor theater. Thank you all!

      Hi Ada,

I wonder if you’ve already solved this, and if so, how?

My first reaction would be to totally soak the fabric in an elastomeric roof coating and sort of paper-mache sculpt it. If Jaxsan is too rich for your budget, Sherwin Williams has some good options of moderate thickness and moderate price (Conflex and Loxon) and Home Depot has Henry brand, which is a bit too thin for my use.
