      Hello members–

The Guild is excited to launch an entirely new educational offering to you and your fellow Scenic Artists. Introducing our 2020 Touring Seminar:

Deep Dive into Sealers with Claire Dana

We’re offering 6+ hours of educational Scenic content you can use on the job immediately, focused entirely on one of the Scenic’s favorite products: sealers. The class is taught by Claire Dana, the very well-respected Charge Artist at Indiana Repertory Theatre (and Guild member). One particular part of Claire’s content that I think is really exciting is that she will breakdown the chemistry of each type of protective finish: water-based sealers, varnishes, waxes, etc, and describe the strengths and weaknesses of each. Where else can you find this sort of content?

This seminar is happening in three locations across the country (it’s on tour!): Minneapolis (May 9), San Francisco (June 13), and Newark, DE (July 11).
Classes are limited to about 18-20 per location.

Cost for Guild members is $115 (regular registration is $195), and you’ve got a week’s headstart on registration before we launch this to the rest of the larger Scenic community on March 16.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at lpayne@scenicguild.org. We hope to see you there!

        UPDATE:

Who could have expected all of this?! I’m sure this comes as no surprise but we’ve had to postpone our 2020 Touring Seminar due to the current state of the world. In the meantime, you can read about them at https://www.scenicguild.org/tour, or feel free to ask any questions you might have about them. When life returns to normal we’ll get to rescheduling and announce those dates.

        Thank you!
