I have to make some fun art on a chalkboard in a restaurant.

I found some chalkboard pens- but they seem to be non-permanent.

Does anyone know what type or brand of pen I should use for this?

And if I choose the use chalk- any ideas how to seal it? Workable fix doesn’t seem like a long term solution.

Not sure if this helps, but if you dip a stick of normal blackboard chalk into a saturated solution of sugar water, the chalk goes on wet and when dry can only be removed by washing – it will not brush off.
