I am looking for somewhere to order scenic paint online, preferably Rosco but I am open to other brands. A plus if they have quick shipping! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

Where are you located? Here in Indianapolis, I usually call Indy Stage (a Rosco supplier) and they have the option to drop ship it straight to me. It doesn’t usually take too long. Any local theatre supplier *should* be able to do the same.
January 8, 2019 at 7:53 pm #15850BMI Supply sells the Rosco line of scenic paints and other scenic supplies as well. They’re also a new sponsor of the Guild, so you know they care about Scenic Artists!

January 8, 2019 at 8:32 pm #15851If you go to the ROSCO web site, there’s a page that tells you where you can buy their paint. Not all of their dealers carry paint so be sure to check that first.
Remember, all shipping goes by weight and ZIP code. If you order from a dealer close to you, the shipping costs will be less. Paint is heavy.
January 9, 2019 at 5:42 pm #15852Buy off the shelf from a local retailer if you can: if Indy Stage orders paint for us, the drop shipping or freight is horrendous for (CT? to IN), potentially doubling the cost of the material, especially in cold weather, because it has to go overnight or at most 2-day (not over the weekend). I ask IS what their stock is like and when they’re going to make their next order: if my order does or can be stretched to fill out a pallet, I don’t have to pay the freight. If Indy Stage doesn’t have it and I want it within a few days, I will order it from a Chicago supplier, because it will arrive next day with no expediter (is that a word?) surcharge.
Bridget Dreher, we should meet!
January 9, 2019 at 9:13 pm #15853I am located in Erie PA. There weren’t any local dealers that I could find within a reasonable distance on the Rosco website. I did come across Rose Brand

Yeah, the drop shipping is absolutely atrocious, but I’m all the way over in Crawfordsville so if I need something fast I’ll take the hit. (Thankfully that doesn’t happen often.) I didn’t even think about calling up to Chicago though… that’s smarter, thanks for that!
And Claire, I would love to meet! Let me know if you’d want to grab coffee or a drink… my email is bdennettdesign@gmail.com
January 11, 2019 at 1:56 am #15856Vincent Lighting in Cleveland sells Rosco scenic paint. They usually get it to me in Kent (not too far from Erie) the next day. They are also very conscious of making sure it arrives during the week when someone will be there to receive it and not sit in a warehouse/freeze over the weekend.

Thank you!

January 14, 2019 at 2:42 am #15858I second what Tammy said! When I was in Cleveland I bought from Vincent and they’re GREAT. When I moved down to Louisville I still kept ordering from them. Fast communication and fair prices. They have offices in Cle, Cincinnati (although that office doesn’t stock paint to my knowledge), Pittsburg, & Detroit.
January 14, 2019 at 5:00 pm #15859These are the usual suspects from what my clients have told me over the years. Obviously I’m a little biased on which one I would recommend but any one of these vendors should be able to handle your orders for Rosco’s paint line. I’m pretty sure we’re still on the lower end of the pricing that you’ll find out there but most of the vendors on the list are in the same range.

I absolutely love NovaColor Paint. Deep vibrant pigments with plenty of options of mediums, translucents, transparents as well as opaques. I use these paints for my exterior murals and pictorials on signs.
