Hi y’all, are there scenic artists out there with advice/experience for someone with asthma? Recently I’ve been wearing a respirator for long periods of time because we’ve been doing a huge project with pneumatics. Is there a different type of respirator I should be wearing than a half face or should I possibly not be wearing one at all?

First of all you should only wear a respirator if you have been given a medical clearance from a Doctor. You can usually find an occupational medicine clinic that will do that. If they clear you then you should be fine. Second, I always have my employees take an hourly break when wearing a respirator. I have them go to where there is clean air, sit down and remove the mask for 10 minutes. It is taxing on a healthy person to breathe through a respirator so please take care. As you probably know, asthma is nothing to fool with.
